When looking into the specifics of what a classic car restoration might entail, the first question you need to ask yourself is how well-preserved the car in question has been over the years. If your classic car has been cared for and looked after diligently for years—or even decades—then there is a possibility that the classic car restoration process for you might be relatively superficial.

What Does Classic Car Restoration Entail?

When this is the case, we may still need to take some things apart to check all your car’s parts for the natural wear and tear of time and use (or disuse), but overall if your car has been kept in peak shape, you will likely be looking at a less invasive restoration process.

However, if your classic car has had a rougher life—maybe it was bought secondhand, or you weren’t able to drive it for a while, or environmental factors have caused the outside to rust or wear—then you may have a more complete classic car restoration ahead of you. This can include completely removing the body, engine, and other parts, up to and including a complete disassembly of the entire vehicle so that each part can be inspected, catalogued, and potentially replaced.

In either one of these situations, we strive to ensure each part we replace is appropriate for the classic car in question and will make sure to treat each nut and bolt with the care that your classic car deserves. If you have any questions about classic car repair, please contact us today.
